According to the San Diego Union Tribune, a 62-year-old woman was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident in Carlsbad on Monday, March 5, 2018.
The pedestrian accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. near the intersection of Carlsbad Boulevard and Avenida Encinas, when a 48-year-old man in a Subaru Outback was backing up in a bike lane and struck the woman.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The cause of the pedestrian accident remains under investigation.
