According to ABC 7, a pedestrian was struck and killed Wednesday, August 23, 2017, in Santa Monica. The incident took place at about 5:10 a.m., which caused the westbound 10 Freeway and northbound Pacific Coast Highway to be shut down. Santa Monica police responded to the 1100 block of Pacific Coast Highway where the man died at the scene. The man’s name has been withheld due to his family’s pending notification.
According to authorities, the driver who struck the man remained at the scene and was cooperating with police. All northbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway are expected to be shut down for several hours as police investigate the crash.
