According to NBC, two people were injured after a truck crashed into another vehicle and a gas station convenience store in the Cajon Pass on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
The truck accident was reported around 8 a.m., when the truck driver, identified as Manuel Romero, 34, of Las Vegas, was attempting to exit the 15 Freeway at the Highway 138 off-ramp and struck a 1999 GMC Yukon driven by 52-year-old James Jefferson of Palmdale. After striking the Yukon, the truck proceeded and crashed into the back of a convenience store near the Cajon Pass.
Romero and a passenger had to be freed from the wreckage and sustained serious injuries. As a result, they both were transported by helicopter to hospital.
According to authorities, the driver of the Yukon drove himself to hospital.
The truck driver claims he experienced brake failure. The truck accident remains under investigation.
