According to KTLA, a suspected DUI driver was killed in a car accident that left two adults and a toddler injured in Santa Clarita on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
The fatal car accident was reported around 10:50 p.m., on Golden Valley Road when a suspected DUI driver in a white Honda Civic ran a red light and collided with a tan Toyota Sienna.
The suspected DUI driver, who has not been identified, died at the scene of the car accident. The DUI driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Katherine Powell, 29, was a passenger in the Honda and sustained moderate injuries. Powell was transported to a local hospital.
Richard Oldhafer, 48, was the driver of the Toyota and suffered a broken rib. Oldhafer’s 3-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time of the car accident and sustained bruising.
According to authorities, speeding and alcohol are believed to be the cause of the car accident.
