1 killed, 3 injured in Santa Clarita DUI car accident

According to KTLA, a suspected DUI driver was killed in a car accident that left two adults and a toddler injured in Santa Clarita on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.

The fatal car accident was reported around 10:50 p.m., on Golden Valley Road when a suspected DUI driver in a white Honda Civic ran a red light and collided with a tan Toyota Sienna.

The suspected DUI driver, who has not been identified, died at the scene of the car accident. The DUI driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Katherine Powell, 29, was a passenger in the Honda and sustained moderate injuries. Powell was transported to a local hospital.

Richard Oldhafer, 48, was the driver of the Toyota and suffered a broken rib. Oldhafer’s 3-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time of the car accident and sustained bruising.

According to authorities, speeding and alcohol are believed to be the cause of the car accident.

The fatal DUI car accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the car accident is urged to contact CHP’s Newhall office at 661-294-5540.

Called West coast trial lawyers this morning because I was involved in a slip and fall accident at a major retail store and was in search of an lawyer who can help. Since this is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me I wasn't sure what proper steps would be in order to be able to get the help I needed. I was hit by a drunk driver on my way home from work. Luckily it wasn't to serious and I was able to walk away without any major injuries. The driver fled the scene but I was still in such shock that I called 911 and they came out and filed a report. Rob took the time and effort to hear about my case. Because my accident did not involve a personal injury, they could not take my case. I got into a car crash in LA in summer of last year. I had no idea how much goes into the whole legal process when you hire a lawyer. I'm so glad I was able to have my case accepted by west coast trial lawyers, and to get Pedram as my attorney. I was worried about what I had to do after the car crash in terms of legal procedures, but they pretty much took over for me so that was great.
